Tuesday's Tennis Event, December 30th in New Lenox at Lincoln Way West High School is ON!  Please call New Lenox Park District to register!!  Details are in the previous Blog entry.  Unfortunately, the Mokena Tennis & Pizza Bash will not be running on Monday, December 29th.

More news. . . Mokena Park District has opened registration for the next session of Tennis Groups.  You may go online or call now.  Since the groups begin Tuesday, January 13th please sign up as soon as possible.

As other Park Districts open their registrations, we will update this Blog.

FREE USTA Play Day

Sunday, December 14 - 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Tennis Play Days are designed to get more kids 10 & under playing tennis with local peers in a fun, non-threatening environment. Whether a child is just learning to compete or is already competing in tennis, a Tennis Play Day gives kids additional opportunities to experience the game of tennis without the threat of elimination. Tennis Play Days emphasize skill development and having fun. This is a free event, but registration with the Mokena Park District is required. Registration Deadline is Sunday, December 7, 2014.

 Lincoln-Way Area Holiday Tennis Camps

 Monday, December 29th       10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

This special event is our way of saying "thank you" to all our tennis players for another great year! Open to all players, ages 7-11. The Camp features fun skills and drills, and point play for the first hour. We will have a pizza party after class, from 11:30-12 p.m.  Registration Deadline is Monday, December 22, 2014.  $20R/$24NR    Mokena Park District   (708) 390-2401

Holiday Tennis Bash

Tuesday, December 30th           1:30pm-3:00pm

Ages 7-12
This event includes tennis activities and game play. No tennis experience necessary. Players will be assigned to courts according to age and level of play. Players actively acquire tennis skills and technique by working with each other! Age appropriate equipment will be available to use. A healthy snack will be provided after an hour of tennis activities.

Welcome to our Blog!

Hello and welcome to the Lincoln Way Area Community Tennis Association!

I'm Cindy Heidkamp, USPTA Tennis Professional and Founder of the LWACTA.  We are a small, community oriented tennis group.  We are active in the Mokena, Frankfort, New Lenox and Tinley Park Illinois area.  Our mission is to organize and provide tennis opportunities to all players in our area, in order to grow the great game of tennis.

We are currently affiliated with Mokena, Frankfort, New Lenox and Tinley Park park districts.  We teach and organize tennis both indoors and outdoors throughout the year.  We work closely with the USTA (United States Tennis Association) and are supported by the Midwest Section of the USTA.  We offer USTA programming as well as local Play Days, Tournaments, Camps and more!

This Blog is created to share information about all upcoming lesson groups, events and tournaments.  We will have a calendar link, as well as registration links.  Bear with me as I go through some growing pains setting this up.
